Twelve years of carry

The bag stayed the same. Almost everything inside it changed. A short retrospective on the things I keep within reach.

I bought the bag in 2013 from a small shop in Portland. It was overpriced then and would be overpriced now. It is also, twelve years later, the only bag I own that I have not replaced.

The contents have turned over completely. The laptop has shrunk. The notebook has gotten smaller and then larger and then smaller again. The headphones went wireless and then went wired again, because I am that person now. The camera changed three times. The pen, somehow, is the same pen.

There is a lesson in here about durable goods and the things we choose to keep, but I'll leave it implied.
